Commercial activities was last Saturday brought to? a halt? at Nwaniba timber beach in Uruan local Government area of Akwa Ibom state? as the decomposing?? bodies of three Nigerians killed by Cameroonian army? were brought to the jetty amid crying and wailing.
The Nigerians according to report were massacred by the deadly Cameroonian soldiers?? (known as Gendarmes) while on their way to the country after a successful trading activity.
Reports say that the victim’s high capacity engine boat laden with assorted goods including tonnage of wood and? vegetables? was heading for Nigeria’s territorial waters? when the merciless Cameroonian soldiers openned fire? killing three of them while the remaining occupants escaped into the chilly cold water.
The unprovoked attack came on the heels of last week commendation given the two countries for their peaceful coexistence after few years of signing the green tree agreement by the United Nation.
It was one of several attacks suffered by Nigerians who dare travel to the neighboring African state on business in recent times.
One of the victims, Aniedi Asuquo, a native of? Ikpa in Uruan local Government area of the state whose dead body riddled with bullets? was brought to the beach? when LEADERSHIP got there, was said to have jumped into the water to evade the attack, but the trigger happy and resilience Cameroonian soldiers opened fire on him killing him right inside the water.
His body according to a survivor who did not want to mention his name was later found floating on Sunday evening after rigorous search and brought to Akwa Ibom .
Effort to recover other bodies from the shark infested Atlantic Ocean according to report is being intensified, but as at the time of filling this report more bodies are being fished out.
