A farmer, Mohammed Dauda Ndakotsu, from Washigi Village in Gbako Local Government Area of Niger State, has allegedly killed and buried his son, Momodu, 25, following? a quarrel between them.
LEADERSHIP gathered that Ndakostu was assisted by four other persons, Abu Dogo, Baba Yara, Sheshi and Aliyu, who helped him in tying up Mamodu’s hands before taking him away. People were? made to believe that they were going to hand Momodu over to the police in Lemu for his violent behaviour towards his father.
It was gathered, however, that Ndakotsu killed his son in a nearby bush and quickly? buried him in a shallow grave only to tell his wife and mother of the deceased, Hajiya Amina, that their son had been taken to prison.
Amina was said to have sensed foul play when her husband could not tell her the prison their son was taken to even after she applied a lot of pressure.
LEADERSHIP learnt that Amina, assisted by some villagers, embarked on a search for her son and was shocked to discovered his corpse in a shallow grave in a bush near the village. She then went to the police, who sent some detectives to the scene where the decomposing body lay, and later arrested her husband.
Niger State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Richard Oguche, who confirmed the story to LEADERSHIP said that efforts were on to arrest the other suspects in the case, and therefore advised people from taking the law into their hands.
