The Governor of Imo State, Chief Owelle? Rochas Okorocha has declared emergency on all the bad roads in the 27 local governments of the State and said that they will be completed and commissioned soon.
Already contracts have been awarded for the dualisation of the Okigwe road and similar road projects are going on simultaneously in Owerri and Orlu zones of the State.
Okorocha who was represented by his Deputy, Mr. Jude Agbaso, made this disclosure during the Imo Day celebration at the Old Parade Ground in Abuja on December 10, 2011.
“We have embarked on massive road revolution because we inherited decayed road infrastructure. All the roads in the three zones must be opened up and fixed so that social and business activities would be enhanced”, the Governor said.
