A 34-year-old Pastor, Mrs Agboola Oladuni, yesterday, appeared before an Ilorin Magistrates’ Court charged with criminal trespass and an attempt to commit crime.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the accused person was arraigned on a two-count charge that violated sections 348 and 95 of the Penal Code.
The Police Prosecutor, Cpl Sanni Abdullahi, told the court that one Gabriel Adewunmi of Tanke Area of Ilorin, reported to the police that he was seeing strange faces around his house.
He said that an investigation was launched and a surveillance team strategically placed in Adewumi`s house to unravel the perpetrators.
Abdullahi said that at 7 p.m. a woman suspected of stalking Adewumi’s house was arrested and that she could not give satisfactory account of herself or on whose invitation she frequently visited the house.
The accused person pleaded not guilty to the allegations against her.
Abdullahi urged the court to remand the accused person, as investigations were still ongoing and that the accused might tamper with investigations if granted bail.
The defence counsel, Mrs Grace Balogun, urged the court to grant bail to the accused and pledged that the accused would not tamper with police investigations.
In his verdict, trial Magistrate Abdulrahman Bello, granted bail to the accused for N20,000 with one surety.
