Kogi State Governor-elect, Captain Idris Wada has disclosed that party chieftains and stakeholders have put him under immense pressure, lobbying for appointments since he was declared winner of the December 3, 2011 gubernatorial poll in the state.
Addressing party stalwarts and loyalists? of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) at a reception to celebrate his victory at the Government House, Lokoja, Captain Wada described the pressure as overwhelming.
He therefore pleaded with the members of the party to allow him time to take a rest,and also take time to cool off, after the rigour of? electioneering campaign and said that there was enough time for the constitution of a solid team that would move the state forward.
He equally called on those who contested the primaries and the governorship poll with him to sheathe their swords and join hands with him to take the state to higher heights.
According to the Governor-elect, since the state was bigger than all of them, concerted efforts must be geared towards working together in the interest of the state and the future generations.
