The Senior Magistrate’s Court II, sitting in Damaturu, Yobe State capital, presided over by Abubakar Bukar Kagu,? has sentenced a 24- year-old man, Kabiru Habu to two years in prison, without an option of fine for criminal use of force and theft.
The offences are punishable under sections 265 and 287 of the Penal Code Law.
The Police First Information Report contained in case file No.YBS/DT/SMC II/255c/2011, reports that the accused person forcefully? held his victim by the neck thereby, forcing the victim to fall on the ground while he was conveying the accused on his motorcycle with Registration No. QG822DTR, worth N97, 000.00, to Kandahar ward in Damaturu.
It further reported that the accused thereafter snatched the motorcycle from the owner and disappeared,but some months after the incident, he was apprehended.
When the police report was read out to him before the court, the accused person who said he is a student in a Tsangaya school in Damaturu, and who hails from Bauchi State, pleaded guilty.
