The Kaduna State Police Command has called on the people of the state to disregard “rumours” going round that the members of the Boko Haram Islamic sect are planning to unleash attack on nine communities in Kaduna, the state capital.
Indications emerged yesterday of? impending attacks on communities like Narayi, Ungwan Romi, Maraban Rido,Sabon Tasha, Television, Kudendan, Barnawa, Kamazo and Maraban Rido in Kaduna metropolis by the Boko Haram Islamic sect.
But, the state commissioner of Police, Ballah Magaji Nasarawa told LEADERSHIP on phone that, “It is a rumour, there is no element of truth in it, people should ago about their normal activities, and be security conscious.”
While it was not clear as to when the attacks will take place, a top security source told LEADERSHIP on condition of anonymity that, “ it is true that Boko Haram sect are re-grouping around four communities within the state metropolis, all in Igabi local government area of the
state. But, I cannot tell you what their mission is.”
LEADERSHIP correspondent could not establish contact with the SSS State Director, Abayomi Zamba, as his phone number was not reachable at the time of going to press.
Meanwhile, LEADRESHIP checks revealed that, the Police Command has beefed up security in the state with a view to forestall any breakdown of law and order.
