The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. O.A. Ihejirika has described the dreaded Boko Haram sect as a religious movement that has no value for human life and thus vowed that the military is ready to contain them.
The COAS made this assertion yesterday while delivering his keynote address at the Nigerian Army Security Awareness Workshop held in Abuja, where he called for a close cooperation of all nations to contain the menace of terrorism.
“The menace posed by terrorism is a global phenomenon which requires the close cooperation of all countries to contain it. The nature of the attack, the use of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and increasing confrontation with security forces make it imperative to devise means of decisively dealing with the threat posed by the Sect,” Ihejirika said.
