A bomb blast around 12 noon in Damaturu sent people scrambling to safety and others fleeing the state, even as the Nigeria Army and Police battle the dreaded Boko Haram members who are highly armed.
Following the bomb blast, the police has sealed off the major roads in the state capital, making hard for people to go out easily, thus killing the spirit and joy of the the Christmas
celebration.The blast which was heard several kilometres away from the scene occurred behind the state CID office in Damaturu.
A series of such bomb blasts has already destroyed many church buildings and residential buildings in the state and at least 20 people have been killed including military personnels and civilians.
