The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) says three of its rescue officers were involved in a motor accident while conveying some victims of yesterday’s bomb blast in Madalla, Niger State to the hospital in Abuja.
A statement signed by NEMA’s Head of Media and Publicity, Yusha’u Shuaib, in Abuja said that the three officers were involved in the crash, while conveying 27 persons who were injured in the bombing to Abuja for medical attention.
The statement also confirmed that bodies of 16 persons who died in the bomb explosion at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Madalla, had been deposited in the mortuary.
It said that NEMA’s Director-General, Alhaji Muhammad Sani-Sidi, had also visited the victims of the bomb blast in hospitals to assess the situation.
