The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) yesterday said the bombing of a church in Madala, Niger State,? during Christmas celebration was as a result of bad? leadership that failed to tackle security challenges in the country.
NLC, in a statement signed by acting general secretary, Owei Lakemfa, called on government at all levels to stop diverting people’s attention with their sterile debates about fuel subsidy removal.
He said Nigerians must unite against crime and terrorism.
Comrade? Lakemfa also? called on government to provide mass employment, mass education and mass enlightenment for the populace.
“As the world celebrated Christmas, some Nigerians who left their homes to worship the Almighty tragically did not return home as their lives were cut short by bombs. They became victims of terrorists whose minds are as blurred as their vision.
“The bombings are a manifestation of the failure of the political leadership that throw money at problems like security, rather than solve them.
The NLC condemned the vicious acts and commiserated with the victims’ families as well as for the injured to speedily recover.
The labour body also called on Nigerians neither to be deterred by the terrorists nor give up on building a peaceful and united country where the will of the people shall prevail.
