A candidate for chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Muhammed Abba Aji has called on Nigerians to eschew violence and bitterness? towards one another in this festive period.
In a statement signed by the director general of the Abba Aji Campaign Orgnatization, Ms Bollere Ketebu, the chairmanship candidate called on Christians to celebrate with caution.
He called for more support for President Goodluck Jonathan and urged “Christian faithful to use the occasion of the festivities to reflect on the birth and life of Christ and what it means to the world.”
He also asked them, “to show love to one another and do their best to make our country a peaceful and harmonious place in line with the mission of Jesus Christ.”
Aji said: “While it is usual for people to engage in merriment at this time of the year, it is imperative that they do so with caution and in peace.”
He called on all, “Nigerians to eschew violence and bitterness towards one another and join hands with President Goodluck Jonathan to transform Nigeria into a prosperous and peaceful country.”
He also urged those traveling to exercise caution and obey all traffic rules and regulations in order to avoid accidents and loss of lives.
