The National Council Of Muslim Youth Organisations in Nigeria (NACOMYO) has condemned the Christmas Day bombings and the general insecurity in Nigeria.
This is just as the Da’awah Coordination Council of Nigeria(DCCN) has also frowned at the recent bombings of places of worship in Niger, Plateau and Yobe states by “some irresponsible elements in our society.”
In a press release signed by NACOMYO? president, Engineer? Lawal Maidoki, and its National Legal Adviser,? Barrister Wahab Oyedokun, it described Christmas Day bombing? of? several churches in Madala, Niger State; Jos, Plateau State and Damaturu in Yobe State, as “despicable, reprehensible, barbaric and a threat to protection of fundamental rights of people in Nigeria.
“We view this act as plainly criminal and sinful as both the Qur’an and the Bible forbid attacks on places of worship even in a state of war. We call on all Nigerians irrespective of ethnic or religious affiliation to stand against this unholy act,” they said.
Similarly, the DCCN has described the bomb attacks as dishonorable, senseless and lawless.
In a press release signed by Alhaji Lawal Maidoki, National President and? Engineer Ahmad Jumba, National Secretary? of the council, which was made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday, the council expressed worry that “some criminal elements operating under different guises are engaging in nefarious?? activities capable of threatening our national security.”
