Mixed reactions have trailed the call by the Governors Abiola Ajimobi? and Rauf Aregbesola, of Oyo and Osun States, respectively to reopen the unresolved case of the murder of former Attorney General of Nigeria and Minister of Justice, Chief Bola Ige who died 10 years ago.
The Chairman of Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Jide Jimoh stated that there is need for the Federal Government to re-strategize, insisting that they should go back to the drawing board and do a total overhaul of the nation’s security.
“If somebody like Bola Ige can be killed for 10 years ago and till now, they have not found the killer, it means we have case to answer and God will not forgive us in this country.? People that were killed in the same way also suffered the same thing.? I am in support of Aregbesola that they should revisit the case and get the perpetrator”, he stressed.
On his part, Hon. Hammed Omisore representing Ifako Ijaiye constituency 1? in the Lagos state House of Assembly was of the opinion that revisiting the case of?? Late Bola Ige is a good development.
According to him, “Ogbeni Aregbesola is right on his clarion call to police to reinvestigate the case but as far as I am concern, nothing would come out of it since Olusegun Obasanjo is still alive and more so, the President will not comply. “Since it was state murder only God can fish out the killer of Bola Ige”, he affirmed.
His counterpart, Hon. Saka Fafunmi Representing Ifako/Ijaiye constituency 2 stressed that the case is one of the cases that died a natural death which needed to be revisited. “The case should be reopened for people to give further evidences and necessary information to assist in procurement of justices.
His words: “The call by Aregbesola and Ajimobi is a right step in a right direction because we have unresolved cases which judicial system is yet to provide the culprits and bring them to justice.
