The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday issued certificates of return to 10 members of Hon. Aminu Masari –led faction of the Katsina State Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) to confirm them as the winners of the January 13, 2011 primaries organized by the leadership of the party.
The certificates of return which were dated December 20, 2011 and signed by the INEC chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega himself certify the ten members of the Masari faction? as the duly elected members of the National Assembly in the election held on April 9, 2011.
Members of Masari’s faction, who received? their? certificates of return from INEC yesterday for the senate seats were Sadiq Yar’Adua and? Hadi A Sirika, while Ahmed B Kaita,? Salisu Suleiman,? Shiek Umar Abubakar;,? Salisu Ado Daura, Isa Lawa Doro, Sani Bello Mashi,? Abbas Machika and Dr Mansur Funtua were confirmed for the House of Representatives occupation.
One of the lawyers to Masari’s faction, Mr. Alasa Ismail said the implication of the INEC action was that the certificates of return earlier issued to Senator Yakubu Lado’s faction members presently in the National Assembly have been withdrawn.
The affected Senator Lado faction lawmakers are Senator Abdu Umar ‘Yandoma? and SenatorAhmad Sani Stores . The other affected eight members of the House of Representatives are Hon.? Murtala Isa,?? Muntari Dandutse ,Hon. Musa Salisu ,? Aminu Ashiru ,? Umar Adamu Katsayal,?? Muhammad Tukur? , Tasi’u Doguro and? Abdu Dankama .
Two members of the Masari faction , Salisu Suleiman and Sheik Umar Abubakar who showed their ertificates of return to LEADERSHIP said the development confirms that judiciary is kicking and alive in Nigeria”.”
Leadership had authoritatively confirmed that INEC would issue certificates of return to ten members of the Masari’s faction yesterday.
