Six people yesterday lost their lives while about 22 others sustained serious injuries following an auto crash? which occurred along Dankurmi Road in Dansadau District of Maru Local Government Area of the state
The accident involved a large six-wheeler Truck which was said to have left Sokoto the previous night, loaded with over 30 passengers on their way to attend a market session in Dankurmi village.
One of the rescuers at the scene of the accident,? Mallam Sani Ya’r nagge, told? LEADERSHIP that the truck was carrying passengers from Sokoto when the front tyre? burst at Jangeme Village and somersault into a very large ditch and almost scattered into pieces.
He also? explained? that his vehicle and two other vans immediately conveyed the? dead and the injured to the Gusau Federal Medical Centre.
One of the accident victims, Mallam Umar Bodinga,? also told LEADERSHIP that there were about 30 of them in the truck when the driver suddenly lost control and crashed into a large ditch, killing six on the spot while? several others were injured.
The Chief Nursing Officer of the Federal Medical Centre, Mallam Idris Umar, confirmed that the centre? received? six dead bodies from the accident, while about 22 others were admitted for various degrees of injuries.
