The Minister of Information, Mr Labaran Maku, has said that the decision taken by the Federal government on fuel subsidy removal was to salvage the economy from crashing.
He stated this, yesterday, the Transformation Movement, Nigeria (TMN), led by its national coordinator,? Engr Emmanuel Nwosu, paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
He said,”If the federal government did not take this leadership decision, the economy will crash as it is been experienced in some parts of Europe recently. The government has the burden today to save the economy and do not want to look at the option of retrenching workers to save the economy from crashing as some European countries have done.”
Meanwhile, Nwosu said that the grassroots people have being misinformed on government policies meant to better their lives necessitating their anger. This was even as he said that TMN was out to bridge the gap by enlightening the people on such laudable programmes.
He said,“The grassroots people have being misinformed by some self-centred individuals and politicians? and the minds of? some people have being biased against government policies and programmes.
