The Federal Government yesterday threatened to invoke the ‘no work no pay’ policy if the workers fail to return to work on the grounds that the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) disregarded a subsisting? order of the National Industrial Court that stopped them from embarking on the strike in the first instance.
In a press statement signed by the? Attorney General of the Federation and the Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohammed Bello Adoke (SAN), the current strike by organised labour, which has prevented the legitimate pursuit of economic activities across the country in defiance of a valid subsisting order of a superior court of record, transgresses the parameters set by the constitution and extant laws. ?
