Hon. Ahmed Aliyu Wadada (Baraden Keffi), Senior Special Assistant on Budget, Project, Monitoring & Evaluation and National Assembly Matters to the Hon. Minister of the FCT, Senator Bala Mohammed embodies a man ready to offer service that will transform the lives of the residents of Abuja. He has shown time and again that being an adviser is not a tea party and has been carrying out his duties creditably.
His frontal challenges to the excesses of the Abuja cabal have already made a difference in places far from the FCT for all his forcefulness in the FCT Budget, project monitoring and evaluation. Wadada, 48, is delightfully free from self importance that leads to so many politicians to confess their own interest with the public’s. Apart from fuel subsidy, another topical issue on? the national discourse in Nigeria today is which sector, private or public, should be primary. Wadada as always, has lost no time over the past year in making his preference clear, in words and actions. This has greatly endeared him to the FCT Minister who dotes on him.
As? an Honourable member representing Keffi, Karu and Kokona,Wadada has brought health to the homes of many in his desire to assist the poor and needy in the society.
Among other things, the Baradan Keffi expended the sum of N4.6m for treatment and payment of hospital bills in the three local government areas of his constituency, built a big wall and convenience at Federal Medical Centre, Keffi, donated 10 sets of benches to the pregnant women ward of the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi and contributed N150, 000 for the completion of Kurmin Shinkafa Primary Health Care Project.?
The Hon. Wadada Education Foundation Keffi, which he funds, provides a cradle-to-career continuum of high quality education and support services for the less privileged in the society.? It was founded on the simple idea that everyone has a right to education. Youths, parents and students have continually expressed their gratitude to Wadada for his kindness. He has among other things, complimented government’s effort in the education sector through consistent financial and moral support to schools and award of scholarships to deserving students across Keffi, Karu and Kokona Federal constituency.
A bridge builder, Wadada rehabilitated and constructed roads, bridges, drainages and culverts in his constituency. He has been able to connect different communities to pipe borne water, dig cast wall at various settlements, sinkboreholes in many communities and repair of same. These? are some of the virtues that distinguish Hon Wadada from other representatives. He has made determined efforts to change the life of the people in his constituency.
A man of the youth, Wadada has empowered the youth by contributing to their entrepreneurial drive. He has facilitated the employments of over 30 youth of his constituency. As a memberof the House of Representatives, Wadada has over 10 bills and motions some of which include; Tobacco Control Bill, Federal Capital Development Agency Bill, Chartered Institute of Capital Market Registration Bill and Investment and Securities Tribunal Bill. Others are Motion on Sale of African Petroleum (AP) Plc by NNPC, Motion on Investigation of Afri-Bank Public Offer, and FCT Satellite Towns Development Commission.
A native of Keffi, Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Nigeria, Wadada was born on October 15, 1964 to the family of Alhaji Danyaya Aliyu. He? attended Abdu Zanga Primary School, Keffi in 1972 and Government Secondary School Maingo, Jos, Plateau State and School of Parliamentary Studies (SPS) Keffi, in 1984. Wadada obtained a National Diploma (ND) in Business Administration in 1987 and a Higher National Diploma in the same field in 1987 all from the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa.
A father of five children, Wadada worked for United Bank for Africa as a Senior Clerk between 1988 and 1991 and served as a Youth Corp member in Benue Cement Company, Gboko, as a Procurement Officer between 1988 and 1991. He has also been confered with so many awards for his immense contribution to the upliftment and development of the Nation/ Citizenry as Rep-Legislative of the Year by Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Inspirational Leadership for Good Governance (2009)?
