The protest against removal of fuel subsidy took a different dimension on Friday, as Muslims in their large numbers for the first time in the anal of the history of the country took Jum’at service to a public arena in Lagos with an appeal to President Goodluck Jonathan to save the country from disintegration.
The Muslim groups who converged at the M.K.O Abiola Park located in Ojota area of the state under the aegis of Conference of Islamic Organisation affirmed their commitment to the unity and continuous of the country.
They urged President Goodluck Jonathan to accede to the demands of teeming Nigerians who voted him to office by reverting to the old pump price of N65 per litre of fuel .
In his message to the gathering the National Missioner of Ansar –Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Sheik Abdulrahman Ahmad denounced Boko Haram as members of Islamic sect, saying it was blasphemous to refer to Boko Haram members as members of Islamic sect .
He said the problem of the country was not religious or ethnic problems, pointing out that the Muslims have nothing against the Christians.
