The organised labour has denied reports that it has agreed for a price adjustment from the present N141 per liter to N100 per liter, stating that there was no such agreement with the government.
Addressing protesters at the Berger roundabout, both the President of NLC and TUC, Comrade Abdulwaheed Omar and Peter Esele said the movement insisted on the reversal to N65 per liter.
“There are lot of rumours going round that labour has compromised but I ask this question, is it possible to collect somebody’s food and still come out and insult their policies?
“Our mandate is N65 or nothing and on that we stand. At the meeting, despite all their pleas that the economy will collapse we said we have a mandate and it is the mandate of all Nigerians,” NLC president Omar said.
Meanwhile, the National Executive Council (NEC) meetings of the two labour centers will hold today for a fresh mandate on the struggle.
