The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) are presently meeting in Labour House Abuja to discuss ahead of their meeting with President Jonathan over the nationwide strike declared by the organised Labour.
The crucial meeting is holding after two successful meetings with the members of the National Assembly.
The meeting is being held to give the leadership of the union a fresh mandate for onwards transmission to the President Jonathan who is now ready to dialogue with the organised labour.
Reports has it that President Jonathan had offered two alternatives;? that a litre of petrol be sold for N120 per liter or that the price be reverted to N65, and some workers laid off.
Sources in Labour however told LEADERSHIP that the movement will not accept any lay-off of workers and would rather dialogue on how the president will put? palliative measures in place.
The meeting is expected to end soon.
