As the people of Adamawa prepare for Saturday's governorship election, the candidate of CPC, retired Brig- Gen Buba Marwa on Monday urged the electorate to judge candidates based on their character.?
“I wish to urge Adamawa citizens to judge candidates on the basis of their character, performance, past experience and party programme,” Marwa said.
Marwa cautioned on the introduction of ethno religious sentiments into the politics of the state, warning that “it is very dangerous because of the diversity and complicated nature of the state”.?
?He said that CPC had an elaborate package for the people of Adamawa, particularly in areas of free education, free healthcare services, water, road, and youth and women empowerment.?
“Having gone round more than 200 wards in the state two times, having toured all local government areas three times and having noted all problems in different areas of the state, I want to assure you that we will deliver on our programmes,” Marwa added.?
On the party preparedness for the?polls, the state Party Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Waziri, and the Director Publicity of Buba Marwa Campaign Organisation, Malam Abubakar Zubairu said no candidate toured the grass roots like Marwa and that the electorate had shown him love and support.?
“We are overwhelmed by the love and support for our candidate which we hope will be translated into votes by the grace of God come Saturday,” Waziri.?
“We urge the people of Adamawa to remain committed to the desired positive change and come out en masse to vote for Marwa who is a tested and trusted person that needs no introduction nationwide,” Zubairu said.?
Meanwhile, Marwa Campaign Organisation has resumed campaigns tour of some areas in the state following the one week extension of election date from Jan 14 to Jan 21.
