Coach Odigie Says Rangers Performance To Improve Soon

Monday Odigie, the Assistant Coach of Rangers International FC of Enugu, has assured the club's fans that it will soon return to its winning ways in spite of current challenges.

Odigie told newsmen on Sunday after his team defeated Kaduna United FC 2-0 in a premier league week two encounter at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium that the club would not relent in its efforts to regain its lost glory.

He said the team would soon emerge as one of the best in the 2011/2012 season as it was striving to steady its stride in subsequent matches.

“I would not say much here but we are still trying to bring the players up to an appreciable standard.

“They have tried their best today, though they missed several scoring chances. It is a game of football,” he said.

In the same vein, James Okwuosa, a Rangers player, said he was impressed with his team’s performance in the encounter against Kaduna United

“I thanked God for the performance; it was a good game,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kaduna United’s Gero Alhaji, who spoke on behalf of the team, expressed disappointment with its performance and described it as “unfortunate.”

?“We had a bad outing today, and the officiating was slanted in favour of the home team,” he said.
