Cross River State Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke, has condoled with the families and relations of those who lost their lives and sustained injuries in the blasts that took place in Kano and Bayelsa States at the weekend.
A statement by Governor’s Special Assistant on Media and Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Omini Oden also commiserated with the Governments and people of Kano and Bayelsa States on the incidents.
Senator Imoke said the ugly developments in Kano and Yenagoa were shocking and the dastardly acts must not be condoned as the sanctity of human life must be upheld at all times.
He appealed to religious leaders and their faithful in the country not to allow recent developments in the country to degenerate into religious crisis as the unity of Nigeria remained uppermost on all fronts.
He warned against reprisal attacks and suggested that security agencies in the country must step up their intelligence gathering to avert a repeat of what happened in the ancient City of Kano and Yenagoa.
