Sequel to allegations of hosting and bankrolling the deadly activities of the radical Islamist Terrorist group, Boko Haram, Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda, Thursday, January 26, 2012 stated that the group has no operational base in his state.
Yuguda, who was reacting to a publication in a national daily, (not LEADERSHIP) while presiding over the formal presentation of a monthly magazine published by the special adviser on political Affairs to President Goodluck Jonathan, maintained that they group has no links with the state as alleged. He though, noted that even the dastard act carried out in the state was perpetrated by those, harbored in neighboring states.
The Chairman, who further denied paying for protection from the major potential terrorist group, suspected to be allied with Al Qaeda, posited; “I am surprised that our media could create stories that have no atom of truth, thus, sending wrong signals to the international communities, portraying us as animals.”
“We should not be that useless as a people, to distract the result-oriented intervention programmes of our God given leaders, who are bent on driving us to our promise land.’ May I on this note that my first encounter with the group was in 2009,” he said.
