Months after the April post-Presidential violence that rocked Kaduna State, the Governor, Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa is still lamenting that the incident set the State back in terms of development.
He said that the“the violence has robbed the State of developmental projects.”
Governor Yakowa who stated this yesterday in Kaduna while inaugurating a peace and reconciliation committee, said “the horrors of past crisis on us and the heavy toll it has exerted on our resources, communal harmony, existence, development and oneness should shake us out of our lethargy as a people so that we can direct our hopes and intentions to progress and development.”
He said that the State government desired to pursue and realise full and genuine reconciliation among all inhabitants of the state.
“This is only achievable through a new orientation and a change in spirit that emphasises the superiority of reasoning and dialogue on all contentious issues rather than resorting to lawlessness. It is also attainable through a deliberate and concerted effort of security agencies, religious bodies, traditional institutions, Non Governmental Organisations, peace groups and all citizens of Kaduna State.
