Ten passengers yesterday died during an auto crash involving J5 bus along Bauchi- Maiduguri? Road in Bauchi State.
The Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Bauchi State Command, Mr. Mamman Zakariya, disclosed this to journalists? in Bauchi, saying that? the accident occurred on Wednesday night when the driver lost control of the bus while overspeeding along the road.
Mamman explained that the 10 passengers were not only killed but were also burnt beyond recognition. He added that the only surviving passenger who sustained injuries is now receiving treatment at the Darazo General Hospital.
He explained that the FRSC rescue team had arrived the scene immediately after the accident to give helping hands and to save lives of victims when they saw the 10 roasted people lying down.
It was gathered that the occupants of the bus were heading to Adamawa from Jigawa State when the incident occurred.
The FRSC boss also said that it was regrettable that the accident was due to over speeding, saying that the development was responsible for multiple accidents on the high ways and urged road users to always observe road signs.
