What was supposed to be a friendly match and show of brotherhood between two streets in Ile-Oluji, Ondo state turned out to be the greatest undoing of the youths of the community, as it claimed the life of a promising young boy and left others injured.
Tragedy struck in Ile-Oluji, headquarters of Ile-Oluji/Oke Igbo local government area of Ondo state during the week when youths of two streets in the town came together for a football match and a supporter of one of the teams shot a footballer and injured two others during an argument.
The tragic incident occurred when youths of Oke Alafia and Ayeyemi streets in the community were engaged in a local football match at the field of Gboluji Grammar School, Ile-Oluji and the victim, identified as Wale Yusuf was shot by a football supporter named Abiodun who was angered by the alleged bias of the referee.
