20 out of the 26 parishioners of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Madalla, who died in the Christmas Day bomb blast at the church, will be buried on Wednesday.
This was disclosed by the Parish Priest of the church, Rev. Fr. Isaac Achi during mass celebration at the church, yesterday.
Achi who disclosed that 26 parishioners died in the blast said six of them had been taken to their various villages for burial.
He also said that the corpses of the victims would be conveyed from the National Hospital and the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital mortuaries to the church at 7am for requiem mass, scheduled to hold at 10am.
“Mass will be said by 10am on Wednesday then the bodies of our parishioners, friends and family members would be laid to rest. We are expecting so many visitors so we have to be prepared especially in terms of security,” he said.
The parish priest warned that vehicles would not be allowed into the church premises and advised those with vehicles to leave them at home or find alternative parking spaces.
Achi who disclosed that the coffins for the burial had been provided by the Catholic Bishop of Minna Diocese, Rev. Martin Uzochukwu, advised those whose loved ones were to be buried to be at the hospital on Monday to identify their corpses and to also come with necessary clothing for the burial.
