The Chairman of Niger State Hajj Commission, Mallam Mamman Mohammad has said that the commission would make it mandatory in this year’s hajj for husbands to write an undertaking that their wives are free of pregnancy before they would be allowed to embark on holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
The chairman of the commission who stated this yesterday during a post hajj meeting in Minna, said the new measure would not exclude the compulsory pregnancy scanning test before departing for hajj.
He said? the insufficient food supply to the state’s pilgrims while in Muna, in last year’s hajj was regrettable and therefore urged the National Hajj Commission? to allow his commission to recruit its caterers to ensure better service for the state contingents .
According to him the commission would retain their accommodation secured last year with the needed cooperation of the state government because of its closeness to Ka’abah.?
Also speaking, the Amirul Hajj and the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Jibrin Ndajiwo frowned at the alleged extortion of money from pilgrims at the Holy land and? called for a change of attitude.
