The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is optimistic that it will again take over the five states where its governors were sacked by the Supreme Court judgement last week.
National Legal Adviser of the party, Chief Olusola Oke, who made this comment while speaking with LEADERSHIP in Akure yesterday, said that the party had put the landmark Supreme Court judgement behind it Oke.
Oke expressed conviction that the party would reclaim the seats when the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conducts elections in the affected states.??
He noted that the party had accepted the court ruling in good faith and was making serious preparations to reclaim the states and pointed out that the party would remain a force to reckon with in the nation’s polity in spite of its various challenges.
“We are going to win back all the states anytime INEC conducts election in the states. As a party, we are not moved by the court ruling because it makes us stronger. The court ruling will continue to strengthen us as a party, we are not bothered at all because PDP is very popular in the affected states,” he said.
