Murtala Nyako has been sworn-in for the second time as Adamawa governor.
Nyako was sworn in on Wednesday in a ceremony at Ribadu Square, Yola, along with his deputy Bala Ngilari.
Nyako, who emerged winner of Saturday's governorship election under the platform of PDP, was administered the oath of office by the state acting Chief Judge, Justice Bathimawus Lawi while his deputy was administered the oath by the state Grand Khadi Ahmadu Bobboi.
In his speech on the occasion, Nyako thanked the people of Adamawa for voting him into office once more and promised that he would not fail them.
“I solemnly pledge to discharge my onerous responsibility you have entrusted in me faithfully and diligently for the greater good of all our people without exception.
“I promise you to do my utmost to improve the content and quality of service delivery in all sectors of government.
“You have not only spoken, I have heard the voice of everyone of you and I will heal the yearnings of all our citizens in this great state,'' Nyako said.
He paid special tribute to those that contested the election with him, describing them as gallant fighters and urged them to support and join hands with him in building the state.
Earlier in his remarks, the acting governor, Alhaji Ahmadu Fintiri, said Nyako's victory at the polls had proved that he was still loved by his people.
While congratulating Nyako for his re-election Ahmadu thanked the people of Adamawa for their support and cooperation during his 13 days in government house as acting governor.
