A 57 year old hunter, Moshood Ajani has allegedly killed his colleague Hammed Amusan,47 during hunting expedition at Mokore farm settlement near Orile-Owu town, Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State.
LEADERSHIP reliably gathered that the hunter who lives at Apena Compound in Orileowu reported himself to the police and narrated how the sad incident occurred in the thick forest.
Moshood? explained that he? shot his colleague thinking it was an antelope that was on sight.
According to him,? he was surprised that his colleague received the bullet and died instantly.
LEADERSHIP learnt that the corpse of Hammed has been deposited at the Morgue of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, (OAUTH), Ile-Ife where medical personnel would carry out the autopsy.
Commenting on the incident, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Solomon Olusegun confirmed the incident, saying that the matter would be thoroughly investigated.?
It was also learnt that the suspect was detained at the Gbongan Police Division during preliminary investigation and was later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Osogbo, the state capital.
The death of Hammed caused pandemonium in the town as angry mob protested and accused Moshood of killing the deceased intentionally which led to the burning of the property of the suspect during the protest.
