Why I’m Contesting PDP Chairmanship – Amb. Waziri

Former Minister of Commerce and aspirant to the office of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Idris Waziri? has said that genuine desire to provide a credible and purposeful leadership for the party are among the factors that informed his decision to contest the forthcoming? National chairmanship election.

Ambassador Waziri who stated this shortly after being conferred the Patron of the PDP National Youth Vanguard, also added that the vision of the party’s founding fathers and President Goodluck Jonathan’s transformation agenda which are in tandem with his dream of restoring the party to the path of unity, peace and progress? may also have motivated him to vie for the position of the National chairman of the party.

Amb. Waziri who opined that the party had been in power at the federal level and in many states of the federation since 1999 said the PDP had a responsibility of ensuring the survival of Nigeria as one indivisible country where peace, security, progress and democracy reigns. He said as a country that was faced with surmountable challenges, all believers of the ideals and vision of the party’s founding fathers and Mr. President must be prepared to work together and make sacrifices to address the situation.
