Nigeria has dropped 11 places from 45 to 56 ?in one of her worst ever rankings? in? 12 years in the latest ?rankings released by world football governing body FIFA yesterday. Nigeria’s lowest rankings in the FIFA rankings was 76 in 1999.In Africa ,Nigeria fell one spot from sixth to seventh spot.
?The just concluded Africa Nations Cup in Equatorial Guinea and Ghana helped some Africans teams in the rankings. African champions and first time winners of the Nations Cup Zambia moved 28 places to 43rd, and are into the top five in Africa and also ?it’s the first time since 2001 that they are moving into the top 50.Losing finalist Ivory Coast is still the number one ranked team in Africa and have moved from 18 to 15.Ghana is second in the continent and ranked 23 in the rankings. Algeria is third in Africa while Bronze medallist Mali are now the fifth best team in Africa displacing Nations Cup flop Senegal. Also Nations Cup hosts- Equatorial Guinea and Gabon both quarter finalists improved in the rankings-Gabon moved 46 places from 91 to 45 while Equatorial Guinea moved 41 places from 151 to 110

Portugal and Italy moved up one spot each to sixth and eighth respectively, while Denmark also climbed one place to push Argentina down to 11.
