The spate of security challenges in the country has been linked to the entrenchment of corruption in the country, Diane Mkohn, a United States Of America envoy has said.
Mkohn, who is the Director, International Narcotics and Law Enforcement at the US embassy, made the obersavtion? when she led a delegation of the embassy on a courtesy call to the Independent Corrupt Practing and other Related of fences Commission ICPC Acting Chairman, Ekpo Nta.
While promising the support of the US government in helping Nigeria to overcome the challenge, she emphasised that the embassy was ready to support (ICPC)? in the area of developing capacity to effectively combat corruption in the country.
Mkohkn stressed that the US government viewed partnership with the ICPC on corruption as high priority because of its centrality to the security challenges currently facing the country.
She added that peace and stability in Nigeria was crucial to the stability in the West African region.
