The Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) has said that it would complete the rehabilitation of Murtala Mohammed Airport Road, Ikeja, in February.
A Maintenance Engineer with the Agency, Mr Ige Babatunde, said in Lagos on Monday that work on the project was slow due to non-availability of bitumen.
He said that the Agency had now received adequate supply of bitumen to “enable us finish the work before the end of February”.
Babatunde said that the road was crucial to economic activities in view of the status of the number one international airport.
The engineer said that the Agency was also fixing lamps on the Third-Mainland Bridge to enhance safety and security.
He said that the rehabilitation of the access road to the Iganmu bridge and clearance of the drainage were on-going.
NAN reports that the Iganmu bridge was a threat to road users until the FERMA started rehabilitation work on it.
