As part of efforts to ensure that adequate measures are put in place to address crime wave in the state, the Katsina State Police Command has outlawed the use of motorcycles within the state beyond 10 pm.
Police Public Relations officer, ASP Ibrahim Abubakar Mohammed, who confirmed the ban to newsmen, said the measure was occasioned by the current security challenges and the rising cases of crime across the country.
While assuring that the command would adopt necessary measures to ensure strict compliance to the ban, the police spokesman urged residents to provide the command with useful information about criminals.
Our correspondent reports that there had been widespread reports of armed robbery in the state with the recent being raiding of a shop in Dutsinma town where monies and valuables amounting to six million naira were allegedly carted away.
