As the internment date for the late former leader of? Biafra, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, draws nearer, the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) weekend disclosed that the late Igbo leader was not dead, saying he passed on to join other great African leaders.
President of the association and coordinator of the Coalition of Nations and Organisation of Nigeria (CNON), Miabiye Kuromiema, stated this when the organisation paid a condolence visit to the widow of the late Biafran leader, Bianca, at Ojukwu’s residence in Enugu.
“In Africa, our great leaders do not die. The Ikemba of Nnewi is not and could not have died! He has just passed on to join great African leaders like our beloved Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe , Dr. Kwame Nkuruma of Ghana, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Alhaji Ahmadu Bello, the Sarduana of Sokoto, Chief Melford Okilo, and many other worthy leaders.
“We know they are in the clouds over us, joined with the Almighty God. But to keep the memories of our father alive among us, in his honour, we have convened an All-Night Congress meeting to review his legacy and to examine the Nigerian nation and its federalism and come out with concrete measures that will reclaim our country from its downward spiral,” he said.
