Following the recent arrest of the alleged Boko Haram kingpin in Taraba State,? the Police command has mapped out operational strategies to combat crime? in the State.
The strategies according to the Police Public Relation Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ibiang Mbasekei, include town hall meetings, seminar with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), lectures with inspectors, as well as the rank and files.
In line with the directive of the Inspector General of Police, the command has also made available to the public, telephone numbers, that would enable the public, “to forward their unbiased” observations to both the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the commissioner.
He called on the public to provide genuine information that would enable the police to tackle crime in the state.
The numbers which he said have been made public by both the IGP and the commissioner are 08059606666 and 08054270030.
These and other mapped out strategies, as noticed by LEADERSHIP, has began to yield positive results as two trucks carrying no fewer than 180persons was yesterday intercepted by the officers and men of the command.
Mbasekei who spoke to LEADERSHIP yesterday in Jalingo, the state capital on behalf of the commissioner, Mr. Chintua Amajor Onu, said the entire passengers of the trucks were immediately screened by the police and that nothing incriminating were discovered in their possessions.
