The National Coordinator, Transformation Movement of Nigeria (TMN), Engr. Emmanuel Nwosu, has described the TMN as a movement which is out to bridge the gap between the government and the people.
Nwosu stated this yesterday when he led other members of the group to pay a courtesy visit to the corporate headquarters of LEADERSHIP Newspapers in Abuja.
He said that the government has, over the years, been far from the people, and that because of this the people do not understand the policies and programmes of the government, while the government, on its part, does not really understand the problems of the people.
He said: “TMN is set to carry out mass enlightenment for Nigerians at the grassroots to know and understand the policies of the government.
TMN is a movement out to bridge the? gap between government and people. It is a way to bring the activities of government closer to the people, and for government to understand the plight of the people.
“Our visit to LEADERSHIP Newspaper is to solicit its support for our enlightenment activities, which we have started already at the grassroots of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in passing across our messages.”
The editorial director, LEADERSHIP Newspaper, Mrs. Chinyere Fred-Adegbulugbe, commended the lofty dream of TMN and pledged the support of the media outfit to the programmes of the movement.
Fred-Adegbulugbe said: “We believe in what TMN is doing as it is related to the mission of our organisation, because we, as a media organisation, are always on the side of oppressed Nigerian.
We are ready to give TMN our editorial support as far as it is out for the common good of the ordinary Nigerian.”
