The heightened security coverage of police in NigerState recently as a result of attacks on its men and formations paid off Friday night as the police nabbed two gun men at NITECO junctio, Tunga Minna.
LEADERSHIP SUNDAY learnt that the two men were nabbed while driving through the broadcasting road minna in a Toyota Camry car, with two other persons now at large when the police on patrol accosted them.
It was learnt that they were four in the car when police stopped them, but they refused to stop and the car was blocked few metres away by another team, in the process two of the men took to their heels.
The police on patrol it was further learnt apprehended the two other men and searched the boot of the camry car, only to find a revolver rifle with seven rounds of ammunition.
A police source told LEADERSHIP SUNDAY that if not because of the arrest the four-man gang would have launched another attack on police formations in the state capital.
It was gathered that the two suspects nabbed have confessed to some ground breaking crimes they intended to commit that Friday night they were nabbed.
The police public relations officer for the state command, Mr. Richard Oguche confirmed the incident to LEADERSHIP SUNDAY but refused to go into the detail of the investigation into the arrest so far.
