The Director General, Press Affairs in Kogi State, Mr. Richard Elesho, has described as untrue, the rumour making the rounds that the travelling documents of the erstwhile governor of the state, Alhaji Ibrahin Idris, have been seized by anti graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Lokoja, yesterday, Elesho, noted that the story in some section of the media, that EFCC have seized the former governor's documents based on corruption allegation was completely unfounded.
He pointed out that the former Governor while in and out of office, had remained a law abiding citizen, committed to the growth of the country with zero tolerance for corruption.
He posited further that some persons might have cooked up petitions to malign his hard earned reputation and added that Alhaji Idris has nothing to hide and therefore has no reasons to want to escape justice.
The director general stressed that the former Govermor, while in office, had offered to drop his immunity in order to allow investigation into his activities as a public servant.
