One Dies As Truck Crushes Yam Sellers

A 48- year- old roadside roasted yam seller, Mrs.Titilayo Akogun yesterday sustained a serious head injury in a ghastly auto crash along with her daughter,? Busayo Akogun, 28, who later died in hospital as a result of the injuries she sustained in an accident along Ado Ekiti- Ikere Highway.

Busayo, a graduate of College of Education, Ikere Ekiti, lost her life while? her mother? was seriously injured when a? 40-foot? container attached to a Truck detached? and hit the duo at the spot where they were selling? roasted yams .

According to an? eye-witness, the mother?? is still on? danger list at the Federal Medical Centre, Ido Ekiti, where she was rushed? to for? serious medical attention.

When journalists arrived at the scene of the accident, sympathisers were seen clustering around the area and the wreckage of the container rolled over the spot where the victims were selling roasted yam, but surprisingly, the yams displayed on the roasting pot were not touched.
