Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly have summoned the Managing Director of Lagos State Signage and Advertising Agency (LASAA), Kayode Noah; the state Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Toyin Ayinde and the General Manager of Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA), Joe Igbokwe, over the recent rainstorm that led to the collapse of telecommunication masts and billboards in some parts of the state.
?Member representing Epe Constituency 2, Hon. Segun Olulade yesterday during plenary session under Matter of Urgent Public Importance called the attention of his colleagues to the fact that masts and billboards are beginning to fall down in some parts of the state due to the use of substandard materials for its construction.
Olulade, who recalled that the recent rainstorm that wrecked havoc in the state, led to the fall of telecommunication masts and billboards, pointed out that this incident, resulted to the loss of lives of some residents.
The lawmaker also explained that apart from the recent rainstorm, “the use of substandard materials by those constructing these masts and billboards is another major cause of collapse of these masts and billboards”.
While making his contribution, Rotimi Olowo representing Shomolu Constituency 1, was of the view that the masts and billboards were not being maintained.
