Senator Andy Uba has expressed his preparedness for the rerun election to fill the vacant position of the senator representing?? Anambra South Senatorial district in the National Assembly.
?The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) had earlier announced that the election had been slated for Saturday, 17 March between All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Chief Chuma Nzeribe and Senator Andy Uba of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
?Uba who spoke with journalists in Nnewi said, “I have done all the work that is to be done, am satisfied that we have reached the people and they have shown commitment to returning me to the senate.
?“Even if the election is to be held tomorrow, I can tell you that I am prepared, and APGA is not a threat to my re-election. The people know what they want, and I am sure of victory.”
?Meanwhile, the national chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh has stated that his party would go to court this week to demand that PDP feature just one candidate in the election.
?Umeh said it was unacceptable for both Andy Uba and Nicholas Ukachukwu to vie for the same position on the same party ticket, as it would amount to electoral fraud against his party.
