The Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, Dr Dapo Sotiloye, and three other persons have been invited? by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) over alleged embezzlement of? N88 million.
NAN reports that the? missing money was meant for the payment of? 2010 housing allowances to the staff of the hospital.
The other principal officers under interrogation? are the Head of Accounts, Mr E. A. Adeleke, the Head of Administration, Mr O. A Oyeku and the Head of Works, Mr Tunde? Owolabi.
When contacted, the Resident Media Consultant to the ICPC, Mr Folu Olamiti, confirmed the development..
“It is true that our operatives are all over the place? performing their normal duties in carrying out their mandate of interrogation.
“We have our men there and they are carrying out the normal thing,” Olamiti said.
NAN, however, learnt that the anti-graft agency acted on a petition received from the staff of the hospital over their 2010 rent allowance of the staff.
Reacting to the development, The Public Relations Officer of the hospital, Mr Segun Orisajo, feigned ignorance on the matter.
“Honestly, if I have anything about the matter, I will tell you, but for now, I have no comment.
“When the hospital is ready, we will make an official statement,” Orisajo said. (NAN)
