The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Offences Commission, yesterday, swooped on the Federal Medical Centre, (FMC) Abeokuta, and quizzed its medical Director, Dr Dapo Sotiloye, for allegedly embezzling a sum of N88million meant for housing allowances of its staff.
LEADERSHIP observed that apart from the Medical Director,? the Head of Accounting, Heads of Administration? and Works departments, as well as leaders of? former and? current? Senior and Junior staff of the hospital? were? summoned to appear at the? State office of? the State Security Service, SSS, for interrogation.
?Sotiloye was arrested by operatives of ICPC after interrogation that he was arrested for fraudulent act which violated the ICPC Act 2004.
“I can confirm to you that Sotiloye has been arrested by our operatives for alleged fraudulent act. Five months allowance was mismanaged” Abu said.
He further stated that the ICPC acted on a petition received from the staff of the federal government-owned hospital over 2010 rent allowance of the staff. All efforts to get to the GMD and the Public Relations Officer of the hospital proved abortive as their phones were not going through.
