House of Representatives, yesterday, differed from the decision of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, to cancel the conduct of University Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, in the violence-prone States of Kano, Borno and other related States.
Raising a motion under matter of urgent national importance in the plenary session, Hon Aminu Suleiman (Kano/PDP) described JAMB’s decision as unfortunate and unilateral.
On account of almost daily terror campaign mainly by Boko Haram, JAMB last week announced its decision to suspend the conduct of its examinations in States where there are security challenges. The examination is slated for March 24.
